Position


We are seeking a creative mind who welcomes opportunities to work individually and as part of a team. Project Managers will oversee projects from beginning to end. You will assist with cost estimations, material orders and monitor ongoing project progress, as well as drive problem-solving and root cause analysis efforts throughout the duration of projects. The Project Manager will also be expected to communicate updates, issues and needs effectively via email and in-person. Our most successful Project Managers are also knowledgeable and willing to perform any administrative, leadership or physical labor tasks needed to complete the job.


Project Managers should have working knowledge of safety regulations and know how to ensure policies are met and maintained on-site. You must also be able to manage a team of Team Leads, specialized support such as an Inventory Specialist and local temporary labor as needed. 



Job Responsibilities


Below is a list of primary responsibilities a Project Manager would expect in their day-to-day. It is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.   • Company and brand ambassador: GEBM PMs are the primary bridge between the GEBM warehouse crew, local temporary workers and client representatives. GEBM PMITs are responsible for all project teams under their command and takes on sole responsibility for the management of their teams to fulfill the vision and action plan of the GEBM Project Manager and the client. You should feel comfortable operating as root-cause analysis experts. PMITs should be a confident, patient leader and will receive coaching about scheduling, documentation and quality control standards and procedures. 

  • Project tracking across various mediums: GEBM PMs prepare, maintain and submit clear and concise activity/progress reports and time recording/management reports. A PM should inform all stakeholders of project milestones, regular status updates, as well as manage escalation and change control processes. Additionally, a PM must complete all required paperwork (receipts, timesheets, expenses, etc.) for all teams assigned to you on a daily basis. They must have core computer knowledge and a willingness and ability to master software and hardware that GEBM uses for admin/inventory procedures. 


  • Team Lead Development: GEBM PMs is expected to lead by example and play an active role in planned and casual training of new or existing team members. You will be expected to find a successful leadership blend to follow appropriate training procedures and use your personal knowledge to assist with the ongoing development of GEBM personnel. This will include documentation such as completing site-end “Lessons Learned” reports and quarterly personnel evaluations. 


  • Proactive problem solving: GEBM PMs are expected to apply a proactive approach in routinely tracking the project progress against their project scope and commitments to drive problem-solving and resolutions. 


 

Are you who we are looking for?


Qualified applicants should hold the following: 


  • 5+ years of experience in construction and previous experience managing construction crews 
  • Associate degree or higher in Construction Management, Construction Science, Business Administration or a related industry 
  • Active industry certifications for OSHA 10 or OSHA 30, AWP and warehouse/industrial forklift operation 
  • Advanced leadership, situational problem-solving, communication and administrative/computer skills 



The Location


Travel is required. Worksites are out-of-state and at the request of our clients. Project Managers should expect to be away from home for of up to three (3) months at a time. GEBM covers all travel costs (flights, lodging and rental cars). Team members, including Project Managers, should expect to be scheduled for work as per client/customer needs. This may include work weeks more than forty (40) hours, weekend or overnight shifts.

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employees are expected to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) clothing, including safety toe or composite toe shoes. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. 


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, crawl, sit, move about, hear, and speak. They may be required to work in restricted spaces and/or under difficult lighting and access conditions. Noise levels may be high when operating power equipment. Employees may be exposed to hot or cold outside weather conditions when transporting materials. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to sixty (60) pounds and be able to use appropriate support equipment to lift and move greater amounts. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee is required to use properly such safety equipment as is appropriate to the work to prevent injury to self or others.



Compensation and Payroll Schedule


Project Managers are a salary exempt position. GEBM operates on a weekly pay schedule and adheres to all local and federal tax policies. Team members are also eligible for a per diem when located at on-site (away from home) projects.

The Project Manager should have working knowledge of safety regulations and know how to ensure policies are met and maintained on-site. You must also be able to manage a team of Site Leads, Crew Leads, Skilled Labor, and specialized support such as Cage Manager and Onsite Admin.

Job Duties

 

  • Responsibility and accountability: Create a project plan using best practice PMO methodology to deliver within budget and achieve the client’s desired outcomes. You will be fully accountable for the result of the project, and acts as the driver that holds the project together. The PM leads the project with passion, as if it was his or her own business, and conducts quality control checks for all tasks in projects. They will routinely be expected to manage multiple smaller projects in a focused trade area.

  • Building relationships: The PM serves as a role model and GEBM ambassador in promoting good working relationships across a project. The PM exhibits the people skills needed to develop trust and communication among project stakeholders. They are also responsible for tracking the growth and development of GEBM personnel under your supervision, helping team members create and follow their personal growth plans.
  • Proactive problem solving: The PM applies a proactive approach in routinely tracking the project progress against their project scope and commitments to drive problem-solving and resolutions.
